Presser Hall
History
- Presser Hall was erected in 1931.
- This building was built for the new music hall and as an auditorium for all large college functions.
- Private lessons were given for piano, voice, organ, and violin.
Architecture
- This building includes eight large studios, classrooms, a music library, reading rooms, and thirty-six practice rooms.
Significant Events
- The Dedication to Presser Hall took place May 27, 1931.
- The Renovations took place in the summer of 2007.
Fun Facts
- For a certain amount of time, Presser Hall was used both by Western College and Miami University.
- Theodore Presser Foundation covered half of all the expenses for the construction of this music hall, Presser Hall. (Hence the name)
- The Department of music inaugurated this building.
